Tuition & Fees

In the light of great increase of the tuition fees related to JD degree program and in the light of possible student loan meltdown anticipated by many famous financial experts, San Francisco International University College of Law is committed to provide cost effective education, that will not cause significant financial hardship to its students.

San Francisco International University College of Law does not provide students with federal financial aid and does not participate in any student loan programs. However, our university provides scholarships for talented individuals. For more information related to scholarships, click here.

San Francisco International University College of Law reserves the right to reevaluate the fee structures from year to year and to change them at its discretion.


Annual Tuition Fees Payable to San Francisco International University College of Law

Tuition: $5,999.00
Tuition is payable in full at the beginning of each year.

Application Fee: $99.00 — Nonrefundable
This fee covers the cost of processing the student’s application for admission to JD program.

Technology Fee: $275.00 — Nonrefundable
For some courses students are required to access Westlaw or Lexis-Nexis. Both are computer-assisted legal research programs and require a computer with an internet connection and are available to students starting in the first year.

Textbooks: $ app. 500.00 a year
Textbook costs are not part of the above tuition fees. Students are responsible for obtaining their own textbooks.


Fees Payable to State Bar of California

These Are Additional Costs Related to JD program of study but not payable to San Francisco International University College of Law as of March 1, 2017.

Registration as a Law Student: $113.00
First year only. This fee is paid to the State Bar of California and must accompany the student’s Registration as a Law Student form, which is required by the State Bar of California.

FYLSX Application Fee: $594.00
This fee is paid to the State Bar of California and must accompany the student’s application to take the First-Year Law Students’ Examination, which is mandatory for all law students before entering the second year of studies.

Examination Laptop Fee: $146.00
This fee is paid to the State Bar of California when registering for the FYLSX and General Bar Exam.

Application for Determination of Moral Character: $525.00
This fee is paid to the State Bar of California when submitting an Application for Determination of Moral Character and is generally completed during the fourth year.

Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE): $80
This fee is paid when registering to sit for the MPRE and is generally completed during the fourth year.

CA General Bar Examination Fee: $645
This fee is paid to the State Bar of California and must accompany the student’s application to take the General Bar Examination after the completion of the fourth year.
